The powerful southpaw won his professional debut back in November 2011 in Belfast and has gone from strength to strength contesting in venues in England, Canada as well as his native Ireland.

Having first won the vacant Irish Super Middleweight title in February 2012 after knocking out the talented Lee Murtagh, the Mullingar fighter went onto to successfully retain his title in April 2016 after a bruising points victory over Darren Cruise.

McDonagh picked up The WBA Light-Heavyweight title in 2o16, as he defeated Jake Ball live on Sky Sports, and earned himself the KO of The Year, after a sensational first round stoppage.

Now the undoubted number one at this weight in his country, McDonagh is now knocking on many doors for a European title shot later this year.
